Top 5 Computer Problems And Solutions

Hi,

Ever since computers came into our lives, we started to rely more and more on them. At first we used them exclusively for work, then everyone found out about computer games and other ways to entertain yourself using your PC, and now we mostly turn on our computers in order to access the internet. One of the most popular ways to use the computer is internet shopping: by opening a single website like jiji, gloo you can buy everything from clothes andmobile phones to cars and real estatewithout overpaying.

The internet and computers have become such powerful tools, that we entrust them will all kinds of information about ourselves. But when a computer starts malfunctioning, it can be really frustrating, especially if you need to find some info as soon as possible. Today we’ll tell you about 5 most common computer problems and the most effective ways to fight them.
1. Did your laptop get stolen?

There are so many situations when yourlaptop can be stolen: you can accidentally leave it in a coffee shop where you’d been working, or your car can get broken into and the laptop can get taken. Either way, losing a laptop is a very stressful experience.

In order to minimize the damage from a stolen computer you need to install a piece of software called Prey. It’s a free application that both helps you track down the laptop after it was stolen and remotely delete all sensitive data from the computer. That way, even if you never get your laptop back, burglars will not be able to access your personal information. You can also use Gmail andDropbox to locate a stolen laptop. Of course, don’t forget to ask the police for help, as they may be able to find the laptop even faster.
2. Did your PC get infected with viruses?

Malware are one of the most annoying and widespread computer problems. It comes in various forms: viruses, worms, and spyware can all infect your computer. First of all, remember that computer viruses are a constantly evolving threat, and new malware is released every day, so you can never be100% sure your computer is safe.

The key thing to do to protect your computer is to install a trustworthyantivirus program. There are so many to choose from; you can find both free and paid antivirus applications. After you’ve downloaded and installed your antivirus software, run a full scan of your computer to find and eliminate possible malware. If your computer is so infected with viruses it won’t even boot, your only option might be to consult an IT specialist.
3. Is your computer fan too loud?

Although a noisy computer fan is not as serious of a problem as the previous ones, it can still be pretty annoying when you’re trying to get some work done, and it simply won’t shut up. If the fan is constantly making excessive noise, it might mean that the cooling system is not working properly, which can result in the computer overheating and possibly breaking down.

One of the most frequent reasons for the computer fan being too loud is large amounts of dust collected inside the PC. Open up the system unit and clean any dust you can see (and there might be a lot of dust!). If it doesn’t help, consider replacing the old computer fan or cooler with a new one, or invest in a fan controller.
4. Does your display look weird?

Displays can suddenly start acting very weird. Yesterday everything might have been fine, and today strange lines and distortions keep appearing. It can only mean two things: either your monitor, or your graphics card has broken down and it won’t be long before they stop working completely.

There is an easy way to find out what has gone wrong: if you can, wire another monitor to your system unit, and turn on your PC. If the distortions have gone away, it means the problem is in your old monitor, and all you have to do is to replace it with a new one. If the lines and other imperfections continue to appear, it means that your graphics card is on the verge of dying, and you need to get one as soon as possible if you want your PC to keep working.
5. Is your internet working too slow?

Since we’re used to doing pretty much anything with the help of the internet, it’s an especially frustrating feeling when the internet is too slow or is not working at all. If that happened to you, try opening a few different pages at once. If some of them open, and some of them don’t, check your network settings – your settings might prevent you from accessing certain website, or your service provider might have restricted access to some websites. Then try to reboot your router, and check your Wi-Fi reception, if you’re using the internet through Wi-Fi.

Hopefully these tips will help you resolve some issues with your PC. Come back in a week, when we’ll get into 5 other computer problems to give you the solution you need!
