Reuben Abati has come again with another un-put-downable hilarious piece!

Here goes....

“Did they send you your own share of the bush meat?”
“Bush meat?”
“The lion in the zoo that became bush meat in Jos”

“What’s my own inside? I don’t know any zoo worker in Jos and how could a lion that was allowed out of its cage and got shot end up in my stomach. The kind of things you say sometimes.”
“That means you have not been following the story.”
“It is an animal tale”
“Created, concocted and delivered by animals in human skin, working in animal kingdom, telling us animal tales. What surprises me is the fact that there has been no public uproar, no outrage.”

“People are too busy thinking of how to survive as human beings, how to fight the current nationwide epidemic of empty pockets and stomachs, and survive the change in their lives.”

“But when a similar incident occurred at the Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe, there was serious outrage all over the world. Dr. Palmer, the American who killed the lion was the target of abuse and attacks. He even had to shut down his dental office. There were calls for his prosecution.”

“I know. In our case, the international community is indifferent. It is as if nothing has happened. A lion was killed in Zimbabwe; there was protest. A few days ago in Kenya, two Maasai herdsmen were charged for poisoning a lion. A lion is killed in Nigeria, not a whimper. “

“The truth is that the rest of the world is convinced that Nigeria itself is a zoo. Boko Haram is slaughtering thousands of human beings, girls are being abducted in hundreds, women are being raped, voters are getting killed in Kogi and Bayelsa. With such evils against humanity, why should anyone worry about a Nigerian lion being shot and ending up in the zoo of stomachs?”
“The zoo of stomachs”

“Look, I can swear that if you open some people’s stomachs in this country, what you will find is a zoo: lions, grasshoppers, horses, cats, rats, snakes, dogs, rabbits, antelopes, crocodiles, birds, elephants, extinct animals, disappearing species, anything that can serve the gut, and ginger the taste buds. That is why we can never successfully run a zoo, or a Games Reserve.”

“See, the situation in Zimbabwe with Cecil, the lion is no different. In Zimbabwe, the zoo guides deliberately released the lion and Dr. Palmer laid siege and gunned down the lion, and beheaded it. In Jos, their explanation is that the lion slipped out of its cage when it was being fed breakfast.”
“Lying liars. Fibbing fibbers.”

“They made it sound as if the lion was living in a room and parlour and he just moved from the room to the parlour, to the verandah and to the streets. It is a zoo, for Heaven’s sake and there are standards and best practices!.”

“How will they know what the best practice is, when they don’t even know the age of the lion? The manager of the zoo says the lion has been there since 1972. A 43-year old lion, and yet there is no established protocol for managing it.”

“There is no 43-year old lion anywhere in the world. That is a lie. They don’t have records. They don’t keep records.”

“The lion doesn’t even have a name. In Zimbabwe, and Kenya, they name their lions.”
“That is not a problem. We can give the lion a name, right now. What is the name of the state Governor?”
“Simon Lalong. What about him?”
“Good. Simon, the lion. How about that?”

“Ha. The man is still alive oh. And of what use is a name to a lion that is dead, skinned, cut into bits and pieces, taken home to the cooking pots, eaten, digested, and washed down with whatever the animals eating animal meat deemed fit.”

“The very reason the Governor should order a serious investigation. Who released the lion? And why? Who killed it, skinned it? And who took part in the Feast of the Lion? For all you know, the zoo-keeper deliberately released the lion. He may have been commissioned to do so, by herbalists, who I hear value the body parts of a lion. In that kind of world, the teeth of a lion, the paws, the skin, the ears, all of this can be used by ritualists to give a human being, lion-like powers.”

“Blood of Jesus!”
“Did you not see how the killers posed with the lion for photograph, drooling from the mouth, salivating, looking hungry?

“They made it seem as if the lion was a jailbird who escaped, and resisting arrest, they shot it, instead of tranquilizing it. And they turned the zoo into an abattoir!”

“All the characters involved should be investigated and sacked. Otherwise, tomorrow, they will release a rabbit and gun it down, next tomorrow, an antelope will also break jail, and it will be shot, to be followed by a snake, all getting shot and ending up in people’s pots as bush meat.”

“That is why we can’t run a proper zoo, games reserve or a tourism programme. We talk about climate change and the environment but we don’t know that animals are important to the ecosystem. Sad.”

“Have you not heard of the lion that the Saraki Senate has also let loose?”

“A zoo in the Senate? I don’t get it.”

“They have just released one lion called Social Media Bill.”

“You mean the Frivolous Petitions Prohibition Bill”

“The law seeks to gag the social media. It says you can’t even complain on your what’s app, email, twitter, BB or blog and if you say something that is frivolous, you can go to jail or pay a fine.”

“That is an assault on the fundamental right to free speech; a dangerous lion that should be tranquilized!”

“They don’t have tranquilizer in Jos zoo or any other zoo in Nigeria, is it in the Senate that they will have it? Look, some activists have decided to organize their own public hearings and shoot down this particular lion.”

“Let’s go there then. Let the shooting shooters, the gunning gunners, the writing writers, the protesting protesters, the marching marchers, the shouting shouters, the fighting fighters, the petitioning petitioners, the blogging bloggers and the tweeting children of anger have their own public hearing. That’s democracy.”

“You left out the Wailing Wailers”
“They too. I think this is the type of lion that Nigerians should kill, not Simon.”
“I like your passion. But there was a protest in Abuja on Tuesday. I didn’t see you joining them?”
“Hen. Hen. You want them to mistake me for a lion that escaped and shoot me, abi? You don’t know that to be an activist, you must also be wise, and protect your stomach from bullets.”

“I thought you were bullet-proof. And you need not be afraid, anyway. The Senate has made it clear that it is acting in the public interest and that its members are not opposed to free speech. Just a simple matter.”

“Please! My fear is that they are all shooting already and because they are yet to hit target, there are stray bullets flying all around, respecting nobody. You go and ask Dino.”

“Which of the Dinos? Dino 1, Dino 2, Dino 3 or Dino $1,000?” -LMAOOOO

“I don’t know. But the people in Aso Rock have been smart enough to duck. They are now talking about free speech. Free speech. Free speech! Thank God oh, for free speech!”
“Not in Bayelsa at this time, though. Or in Kogi, where people are suspicious of tomorrow.”
“Why not in Bayelsa? I saw the people insisting that they should be allowed to choose their Governor. Too much violence in that election.”
“I hear Countriman has declared that he’s not going to die and that the election will be concluded.”
“Who is so-called?”
“Dickson”
“Ha, Dickson na Ijebu Ode boy oh. Him no ready to die. Bobo no go die, afi to ba di Governor. Bobo!”
“But INEC says the Bayelsa election is inconclusive.”
“This new INEC should just be renamed Inconclusive National Electoral Commission (INEC). If they take weeks to conduct elections in eight local governments, with less than one million voters, if they have to run a nationwide election, then the entire country will be declared inconclusive. Where is Jega by the way? They need him as a Consultant.”

“Why? Let him enjoy his retirement, I beg.”
“Why not?”
“It is called change, my brother.”
“But not in Kogi where I hear the Deputy-Governor elect is swearing that if he is not allowed to inherit the Audu-Faleke undeclared victory, he will not show up to be sworn in as a Deputy Governor on January 27, 2016.”

“He doesn’t want to be Deputy Governor again?”
“He says he cannot betray former Governor Abubakar Audu.”
“Ha. Inconclusive matter! I think we should declare 2015 our year of inconclusiveness. 2015: Nigeria’s Inconclusive Year. How about that?

“Nigeria’s Year of Inconclusivity.”

“Two weeks to Christmas, see how people are looking sad. Some people this year will just pretend that there is no Christmas, Christmas having been declared inconclusive! Even prostitutes have reduced their charging rates; everybody is looking for survival, and anything is fair game, be it a live lion, or the people’s rights or what is that famous blogger’s favourite word again? Yes, eggplant. As Douglas Adams said: to summarize the summary of a summary, people are a problem.”

“Tell me more about these prostitutes and their current rate cards.”
“No be me and you. You go and find out. You see, you are part of the problem.”
“That includes you too, I beg. You always talk about change; now you have it, and you don’t want to talk about it. My friend, don’t complain. Go and sit down.”

“Change?”

“Change is the necessity of history”
“You know the truth?”
“What?”
“Things do not change, we do.” Henry David Thoreau.”
“I don’t know him. You know what? Stop quoting dead people.”

Do you actually know that the Abobaku gist in Ile - Ife is real?

The Abobaku (Also called Saarun) is a 'special ingredient' that leads the road to heaven when the Oba dies .When an oba dies, the Abobaku must follow him whether he is ready to die or not....

This tradition of burying the Abobaku alive with the King actually took place centuries ago and was only actualised when ONE KING died. This practice was fortunately Abolished during the Reign of Oba Adesoji Aderemi.

Insiders whisper that even though this tradition has been abolished long ago,not many know this, thus When Oba Sijuwade passed on in July 2015, the "special ingredient" actually took to his heels and disappeared for one month thinking he would be forced to lead the way......

I am sure he is out of hiding now.....LMAO!
I am also sure the new Abobaku be like .....''cant wait to resume duty..''

Article sent in by blog reader regarding criticisms following Africans praying for Paris ....

In the wake of the very tragic events that occurred in Paris and the debate that probably ensued following the show of support and solidarity of some Africans towards the people of France as a whole and Paris in particular, let's try to see the very reasons why we must #PrayForParis.First let me outline some daring implications of the very immoral and barbaric actions of the extremists

1. The very first intention was to kill a maximum of humans indiscriminately which may not sound new as it's often the case with radical extremism.

2. However though, they attempted to enter into the Stade de France where an international friendly was going on with tens of thousands of joyful and innocent football lovers from several nations enjoying the beautiful game. I remember just that afternoon and early evening many African nations were playing the qualifiers for Russia 2018 including my beloved Indomitable Lions. Had these animals succeeded in entering the stadium, we would be talking of something else today I guess. When I imagine the thousands of our beloved African brothers who earn their lives from the beautiful game, I cannot think of the effect that could have on Africa.
3. They sadly succeeded in entering a concert hall where a rock band was performing accompanied by hundreds of joyful and innocent music lovers, we know the results that ensued in terms of number of victims. Music today in Africa is the fastest growing industry both in wealth and strength. The band playing could've been our beloved P-Square, The Marvins, X-Maleya etc etc just to name a few. Africa stands to loose the most in case these extremists succeeded in passing terror and destroying the music business in particular and entertainment industry as a whole.

Africa should and must #PrayForParis because

1. If our governments and security intelligence services of Nigeria, Cameroon and other African countries affected by extremist terrorism cannot assure us protection when we go to our markets and churches, what more if we were to be attacked in our football stadia and concert grounds. The consequences would be (not worth mentioning). So we pray that the message that ISIS was trying to pass through these new forms of attack are not understood by our own Boko Harams and the Al
Shababs.

2. Our beloved brothers and sisters who earn a living doing the only things they love and know how to do be it football or music be preserved from any such attacks in the future. So we #PrayForParis
that the people of France may find consolation and inner peace and come out stronger from this trial period of their history, and that their much more serious governments and intelligence services (sadlyso) together with their allies may put in more efforts and better strategies to prevent any such attacks in the future if for nothing but just to protect our brothers and sisters who sadly have to earn their living while plying their trade far away from home. So I call on all my African sisters and brothers alike for us to put aside our race differences and stand together with the people of France and #PrayForParis for the sake of humanity.

Every new or i'd rather say upcoming blogger can relate to this: there are certain days we don't just have anything to blog on, no inspiration or just anything worth driving traffic to your blog.

Well, this predicament falls more on those who aren't blogging on celebrity news and gossip. When it comes to original content walahi, blogging no easy sha...lol.
No inspiration isn't an excuse though , "he who decides to blog should know how to keep it running"- Naija mom.

We will all get to that point where we publish just anything and we won't loose blog visitors just like those that have made a strong name in blogging.

I admire them sincerely, they could publish just anything that makes no much meaning and the comments it generates is even more than the comments I get in a week.

Example : What is wrong with this picture?

After giving it such a title one actually begins to crack his or her brain looking for what is wrong? ‎Sincerely, is anything wrong with it?

Or they go like; Tweet of the day. ‎
‎

They will publish it and go to groove for hours while internet trolls derail the post.‎

Another common post to keep visitors busy is, lifting pictures off celebrity instagram pages just like this...

And you read sincere comments like; " awww...beautiful ", " my favourite actress " and heartbreaking ones like " go and marry", hian!
‎
Just a random silly question is another way to keep their blog running and visitors returning.
‎
White or black?
‎
Some comments comes out sincere with reasons backing up their decision‎ like say na university thesis while others will just make you wonder how they got a device with internet connection.

But if we upcoming bloggers try any of these blunders, our traffic reduces as if we insulted them.‎
‎
To myself and all new and existing
bloggers, "we shall get there"!

As written by diary of a naija mom

He held his lower lip with his teeth as his hand found rest on the door knob.

Turn it, now!

A part of him, in short order, assumed the role of an opposition—Efosa, please, walk away. The latter voice: gentle, but weak. He sighed, also realising that his teeth had left marks on his lip. Still his hand remained on the knob. He shut his eyes, pained, almost certain he would come back again, even if for the moment he yielded to the call of the more amiable voice. His thoughts, like a bat out of hell, took center stage, offering him images: those breasts! Images he beheld as he, without knocking, entered her room earlier that evening. He pushed aside a voice—the gentle one—as it tried to dull the images. He turned the knob, slowly, a bit undecided. He pushed the door open, closing it again, once he was fully in. The room was dark—as expected—but he found his way.

He lumbered to her bed.

Patience, you know, is not a virtue you can boast of. But for her, you have been patient—for twelve years!

He touched the bed. Then he felt the sheets, then her leg. Then her thighs. At that moment, more than ever, he wished he could stop: gain control of himself—his lust, his hands moving up her thighs—and walk away. He wished she did not remain still, and silent. Her silence urged him on. He edged closer: a new position, by her side.

“Jesus!” she screamed, and tried to struggle.

“Afoke! Afoke! Keep still.”

“Daddy?”

“Afoke! Its me.”

“Daddy!”

“It’s me.”

“Daddy.”

“I won’t hurt you. I . . . I promise.”

He tried to be gentle with his thrusts, but he stayed true to his resolve only for a moment.

“Don’t fight. It’s not what you think—please.”

He held onto her lithe frame as his thrusts became more forceful—that moment, if you know it, when a man has lost control of his thrusts. He wanted to pull back, to wet the sheets instead. But, he did not—could not! His lust kept him in place. Moreover, withdrawing, when it mattered, was not a method he was used to.

He pulled from her. He tried to wipe her tears, but she pushed him away.

“Afoke! I’m your daddy, I won’t lie to you. It’s not what you think!” He wasn’t entirely wrong in his claim—it was wrong, but clearly not incest.

“Leave me alone!”

No one was at home. No one would hear her, except the neighbours, if she screamed.

“Afoke, I—”

She screamed. “Go away. Go!”

“Ok. I’ll go.”

He was sure she would remain silent—about the act, forever! His wife, the one whom Afoke called mummy, rarely had time for the girl. He was the one she loved; the one who really cared for her. He was the one who chose her among the lot at the orphanage home twelve years ago, then she was just a little two year old.

Efosa loved Afoke, just like a father would love his own daughter. But, his personal demons were always at hand to remind him that it had been lust at first sight: it was lust, and an erect penis, that made him point at the little girl, twelve years ago.

Hello! This is a short story. Enjoy!
Naomi prayed silently under a  ripped cover cloth wrapped around her body as she lay on a bare kitchen floor uncomfortable. The sound of mosquitos buzzing around her, still she prayed to God for divine health and guidance. Before she forced herself to sleep, Naomi remembered her dear mother.
Oh mama I wish I could see and hold you close to keep my body warm from this cold. I miss you everyday.

Naomi is thirteen years old. Her father died when she was till a baby. Her mother Ebere took care of her despite being poor. Naomi was sent to school and her mother always made sure her books and textbooks were bought completed. Ebere was always proud of her daughter because she always comes first in her school result. There was never a day Naomi lacked food or anything she needed.

When Naomi clocked ten years old, her world turned upside down as the unexpected, worst thing happened to her. Her mother, Ebere died in her sleep.
How wicked can death be. She wept in agony. After the burial of her mother by relatives, Naomi was abadoned. No family came to her rescue as she wandered the street begging for alms.

An old friend of Naomi's mother came all the way from onitsha unaware of Ebere's demise. The woman known as madam Chizoba decided to take Naomi along with her back to the city as her maid and promised to pay her monthly and  also send her to school. Little Naomi had no other choice than to accept.

Oh Mama, ever since I came here tears refused to stop. I weep everyday because of the suffering, maltreatment and I don't attend school anymore. I am a slave where I ended up. I wake up as early as four am in the morning to sweep in and out of the house, wash the dirty utensils, wash all the clothes worn the previous day for madam Chizoba, her husband and son, Jude. I prepare breakfast even when I'm not allowed to eat. Sweet mother I miss those your delicious food you use to cook for me. After that I trek very far to my madam's shop to open, tidy up the place and wait for customers I will be attending to. I must make sales before she comes otherwise I won't eat through out that day even though I do eat once in a day.

Before my mother died she would always advice me never to steal. She told me stealing was very bad. With the way I miss and cherish my mother how can I disobey her. It's even in the bible thou shall not steal. Anytime money is stolen in the house even when I always see madam Chizoba's son Jude sneaking and taking money from his mother's bag, I the orphan is called the thief. I get stripped of my clothes and beaten like a piece of rag. Sometimes after that I get cuts all over my body with a razor blade and grinded pepper splashed all over me. I cry in excruciating pain and grief. I will never forget the day I slept off and got the rice burnt. You need to have seen me mama, Madam Chizoba and her son layed me flat on the table with my hands and legs held by them and her husband flogged me all over me with a cable wire. That day I slept outside, shivering, trembling in the cold weather as rain fell on me.

The pain is too much to bear.

*******
Today, I'm sent to the market for food items I will be cooking myself for the family. The little change from the money left in me will be used to buy rat poison. I'm not going to be eating from the food because the living room floor wasn't mopped well according to my madam Chizoba.
Well, my mind is aready made up on what to do with the poison.I'm on my way home. Please don't judge me for what I intend to do.
I'm prepared for the worst to happen......

SAY NO TO CHILD ABUSE!!!

Hi, I actually could not come up with a more intelligent title for this series of write ups, but that's not a bad title is it?? Nahh.

I'm a Nigerian student in Ghana, technically, I'm a Ghanaian because my mom is a Ghanaian and by law (or whatever big big grammer), I'm a Ghanaian, right now I'm doing what is called the wrong thing at the wrong time, reason being that I'll be having exam on the 3rd of next month being November (I'm still praying and believing God that they'll shift it. *cries for a while*). I'm supposed to be reading right now but I'm actually really angry and I'm not sure that's the best emotion to read with, I bet I won't be able to understand anything I read until I've actually expressed myself. I'm going to try my best not to swear in this write up, I actually won't because I'm typing, but if I were to actually tell you orally, I'll definitely do.

 Now, before I go on, the following write up might convey the message that Ghanaians are bad, that's not what I'm trying to say for obvious reasons being;
1. My mom is a Ghanaian (like I explained before).
2. I actually know a lot of very nice Ghanaians (that's a lie, I know only few and all of them are either my relations or my sister's friends, that's cause I don't make friends easily).

I came to Ghana in 2014, that's not exactly my first time in Ghana but the last time I was here that was around 2006 or thereabout when I came for my grandma's burial. To tell you the truth, I actually really LOVED Ghana, I couldn't wait to come back, now I'm schooling here, I can't wait to go back to my country, don't get it twisted, Ghana is a really nice place to come and visit, spend a week or two and go back to wherever you're coming from, you'll actually feel like you've just visited heaven, yes, its that good. When you're living here especially as a foreigner, ESPECIALLY AS A NIGERIAN, it's a different ball game bruhh, a very different game. You just sit in Nigeria and complain that Nigeria is bad, Nigeria is this, Nigeria is that, you have no idea brother!!!!!!!

The first thing I observed, you know that special treatment we give foreigners is Nigeria, you know when you meet someone randomly and they say they're from another country, that way we make them feel so special (if you're a Nigerian you get the picture)?? Very little of that exists here, I'll have said "none of that exists here" but you can't exactly make a generalization from your little experiences. That's even a minor issue for me cause I don't even really socialize so...

The next big bad wolf here is the economy, now in Nigeria (when I say "In Nigeria, I mostly mean Port Harcourt, cause that's where I stay, however I've been to several states and things aren't really different) as a student that wants to cut my coat according to my cloth, I can actually spend only N500 a day. In Ghana, you CAN'T live on 10 cedis a day as a student (I used that fast approximate conversion we students use here, it's like take half of the money in cedis and add two zero's to it for the naira value, it's far from accurate). Wait, seriously at SPAR in Port Harcout I can actually see a movie for N500, which cinema in Accra do you want to see a movie for 10 cedis??? Are you the one that acted the movie?? Is your father the owner of the cinema?? Its not even possible to start with. I'm talking extremely little things that we underrate in Nigeria, wait, you think I'm joking, I've bought egg for 1cedi before, if someone sells egg for you N50 you won't crack the shell, you'll open it carefully cause there must be diamond inside, I swear, since I knew how to buy stuff when I was around 5 years old, the price of egg has been N30, these chickens have been loyal bruhh, if you buy egg N50 you'll probably frame it and hang it on the wall in your living room, but unfortunately in Ghana here we eat it. What do you expect us to do? Hatch it? Nahh bruhhh. Talk about satchet water, *lol*, I actually use a water dispenser cause i had to form for long but [in thick Ghanaian accent] "Charlie, it be forming wey go kill me", bruh, I really couldn't keep up so sometimes when I run out of dispenser water I switch to the cheaper alternative - satchet water (as we call it "pure water"), pure water is actually 3.8 cedis where I stay (I stay at North Ridge, that's actually a classic area, seriously) that's a whooping N150+, agree or not, that amount is whooping. I could write a 300 page book on the price irregularities in Ghana, but I'll save more for subsequent posts.

The next thing I hate here is the complete lack of empathy. I know not less than 6 friends that have been robbed at the famous "circle" in Ghana and all of them have something very similar and striking when naratting their ordeal - people were passing by when they got robbed, I mean passing by when they had knives to their torso and had to give up everything valuable on them. In Nigeria, you can't try that bro, rob somebody with just a knife where people are passing by?? You're going to get beaten and (if help doesn't come your way FAST!!!) you'll get burnt, we care that much. I'm not talking about in the night either, in talking about around 6/7 pm, although as a result of the weather in Ghana, 6/7 is really dark, but hell yea, even at that, it's crazy.

The final thing I'll talk about on this post is the weather. Damn, Ghana is hot!!!!! You think sun shines in Nigeria?? You got it all wrong, I think Ghana shines in Nigeria, it's that bad. I have a feeling if my friend Shammah Nathaniel stands and raises his hand in Ghana, he might brush the tip of the sun a little bit, you want us to make the first sun trip? Send a Ghanaian astronaut cause he practically grew up in it.

I think I'm a little bit more calm now, I can continue my reading, stay tuned and subscribe to this blog for more posts about real Nigerian life in Ghana, drop your comments and enquiries in the comment field. Lemme go and read abeg.

You unfortunately can't get a chance to donate to my education but you can share and drop your valuable comments which i appreciate.
do you want to be rich? Many people believe that being financially successful is pure luck, but there are many things that anybody can do to become rich.

From changing your mentality to extra learning, check out 10 actions you can take to get rich at an incredibly high speed.
1. Think of four ways you could make money outside of your job.

If you want to be rich it is important to stop thinking “I earn enough” and to start thinking “I could earn more.” Write down four ways you could earn money outside of your main job. From creating an e-book to selling on Amazon, there are many ways you could increase your income that would only require a little effort and time.
2. Learn in your free time.

To move up in your career and become rich, you must master new skills and knowledge in your area. Instead of just focusing on putting effort in at work, it can be very useful to learn more about your area in your free time. There are many ways you can do this, from reading books to listening to pod-casts to attending classes and seminars. Remember that the more skilled you are, the more you deserve to earn.
3. Set specific financial goals.

“If you do what you’ve always done, you’ll get what you’ve always gotten.” This phrase is very true when it comes to finances, with many people believing that their financial goals are to pay the rent and bills. If you are already paying your rent and bills, it is time to set higher financial goals, such as saving, paying off debt or increasing your annual income. Mentality is important; always think big when it comes to your finances.
4. Make money your friend instead of your enemy.

Money pays for your home and it is has the ability to give you security, so it is important to view money as your friend and not your enemy. Write down 20 things you are glad your money pays for, such as your home and your new shoes. If you struggle to see money in a positive light, remind yourself that money can either open doors or closes doors—it is your choice.

5. Solve a problem every week.

Rich people choose to focus on solving problems, rather than complaining about them. This attitude helps to improve your solution thinking, opening your eyes up to new financial opportunities and chances that could benefit you. Write down a financial problem once a week, such as raising your income or figuring out how to lower the price of your grocery shop, and come up with a practical solution to solve the problem. Keep going until you have improved all aspects of your financial situation.
6. Get a library card.

A library card is excellent value for money and opens up new worlds of knowledge. Having a library card gives you the option to expand your knowledge in your chosen area without spending too much, which is the perfect tactic to help you earn more money within your career.
7. Do something that pushes you out of your comfort zone.

Many people are too scared to make uncomfortable decisions, but rich people are often more willing to. From leaving your job so you can start your own business to asking for a raise, many choices that seem initially difficult will be financially rewarding. Do something that makes you feel uncomfortable but may improve your life situation. It is pleasant to be comfortable, but it is much better to improve your life and financial situation.
8. Track your financial progress every month.

If you are bad with spending, it doesn’t matter if you are rich or not. You could have a high wage and still be left with little to nothing by the end of the month. Write down your income, as well as all of your out-going expenses. Is there anything that costs too much which you can cut out? This gives you a chance to see the bigger picture and allows you to make changes that will improve your finances.
9. Prioritize your goals.

You probably already have financial goals, but if you having too many can mean none of your goals are met. Instead of simultaneously trying to save up for a car and a holiday while paying off debt, decide which goal is your most important. Focus on achieving that, and then move on to your next goal.
10. Start investing wisely.

If you have no experience of investing, don’t start to invest without knowledge. Speak to a professional about how to invest well, or read up on the subject on-line. When you are educated and knowledgeable about investing, make small investments in business you know will be lucrative.
We’re all very busy nowadays, and between work, socializing, keeping fit, and relaxing, we barely have the time to date. This makes it extremely frustrating when someone we are interested in is wasting our time. Luckily, when you know what to look for, it is quite easy to identify and avoid potential time wasters.

You need to have an abundance mindset – realize that the girl who is wasting your time is not ever going to be the one, and that you should move on as soon as possible to meet other girls who are potentially a better fit. Clichéd as it may sound, there are other women out there who won’t end up wasting your precious time.

The women who just aren’t worth investing your time in

No idea what types of women will only end up frustrating you? Here are the top 7 types, along with ways to avoid them.

#1 She’s just not that into you. There is nothing worse than falling for a girl who is just not interested in you. She might be a friend, a colleague, or someone from your past. This is usually the case, leading to you coming into consistent contact with each other. Seeing her regularly keeps the feelings fresh and makes it impossible to forget about her.

Really, the best thing to do is avoid her and cut contact for a period, at least until you have met someone else or you have completely done away with whatever feelings you have for her. If you’re colleagues or close friends, it might not be possible to avoid her altogether, but you should keep things professional or friendly for a while, and focus your energy on meeting other women.

Meeting someone else is the best way to get over her and is also, funnily enough, the thing that is most likely to make her like you, since other women liking you can instantly make you desirable in her eyes.

Reality is rarely like a rom-com, and trying to woo her when she is initially not interested is unlikely to get you anywhere, especially if she rebuffs your advances by saying…
#2 “Let’s just be friends” or LJBF. The cla$ic line that women will say to let a guy down gently. She might give reasons, such as the fact that she isn’t looking for a relationship or she doesn’t want to ruin what you already have as friends. Recognize now that these are justifications to spare your feelings. It is her being nice and not telling you that she just isn’t interested.

The same applies as in #1. If she says LJBF, that is the end of the line for trying to seduce her. You are not Hugh Grant, and, again, the rom-com plot hardly works in real life. Maintain your relationship with her as it currently is if you wish – especially if you are genuinely already friends – but move on to pursuing other women. You will get over her when you meet someone else that you like and who likes you back.

Once you have been “friend zoned,” it is nigh on impossible to get out of it. She doesn’t view you as a potential romantic partner, and you should move on as quickly as possible to avoid putting yourself through a fruitless emotional rollercoaster.

#3 She’s still into her ex. This isn’t your fault, and there really isn’t a whole lot you can do about it. If she can’t get over her ex, perhaps she is still in love with him and maybe even continuing to sleep with him, then she will not give herself to you.

When her emotions are elsewhere, you will never connect on a deeper level. You might be able to have a fling or a rebound relationship with her, and if you choose to pursue that, it is your prerogative. However, keep in mind that you may not progress any further.

In time, when she has allowed herself to truly get over her ex, she may realize that she can learn to want you after all. Don’t try to force it, though. Either keep things casual between you or give her some time, and revisit the idea later down the line to see how she responds.

#4 She’s always “busy.” If she has blown you off three times with excuses about being busy, she is probably just stringing you along. Chances are, she only sees you as a guy whom she can have at her beck and call whenever she feels like getting some attention or validation.

She might promise to make it up to you or she might show her remorse, but if all she has to offer you are excuses and apologies, then you’re better off not seeing her. What you can do, however, is try to turn the tables by being unavailable.

The next time she blows you off, avoid her for a week or two. It might give her enough time to realize that she misses you or that she actually likes you. But if she’s still as elusive as ever, there’s really no point in staying in touch with someone who can’t be bothered to invest some time in you.

#5 The text buddy. We spend all day staring at our phones, and women especially love to text and chat all the time. Don’t let yourself fall into the trap of becoming text buddies. You think you’re “getting to know each other” but really, communication through technology is no replacement for talking in real life.

You want to maintain an air of mystery and give her reasons to want to actually meet you and get to know who you are for real. So baring it all through text will only make her lose interest very quickly.

Text a bit less than she does, send shorter messages, and don’t be scared to cut a conversation off or not reply until the next day. Women love a guy who makes them chase him a bit, so don’t come across as too keen – otherwise, you end up being her validation at the other end of the phone and never get to see her in reality.

#6 The gold digger. We’ve all heard of gold diggers, and maybe you’ve met some, especially if you are financially well off. Do not become the guy who pays for everything and gets nothing for it.

Whether you pay for everything on dates or not is up to you, and doing so doesn’t in any way make her a gold digger. What does make her a gold digger, is when she doesn’t show any interest in you, rebuffs your advances, and still wants you to buy her things or take her to places without the relationship moving forward over time.

It is faulty logic to think that if she isn’t in to you now, you need to throw more things or money at her. It won’t make her like you more, but she may well like the money and string it along for as long as she can.

If a girl isn’t into you when you take her for a picnic in the park, she won’t be into you when you take her 5-star dining, either.

#7 The flake. You’ve made plans, and she flakes on you at the last minute by making excuses or worse, not even showing up. Sometimes, emergencies happen, of course, but she will be apologetic if it is with a genuine reason. If she has flaked on you more than once, she is probably not really into you, and she’s just keeping you around as her backup plan.

Seriously, if a woman flakes out on you when you’ve already tried your patent best to ensure that she’ll have a great time with you, you’re better off exerting the same amount of effort on a woman who can appreciate what you’re willing to do for her.

Despite the initial feeling that she may be wasting your time, you can still try a few techniques to get her to appreciate you more. But if that doesn’t happen, remember that there are billions of women out there. The one who keeps wasting your time is not the one you are meant to be with.

Its my blog, My research may not perfectly tally with yours but Nevertheless, feel free to add your using the comment box below…

SCROLL DOWN TO COMMENT,,,…..

The university is a tough place. Trust me. It comes with a freedom that is unequaled by any other. There are two ways to that: The good part is that you can while away your time in university, last last, your parents will sell a piece of land and get you a wife; the bad part is that you can make proper plans for your future before graduation. The best part about dropping out of school in Nigeria is that it decreases your chances of getting a job by 90%! Wonderful!

To help you with the good part, here are some ways you can drop out of school and still become a BILLIONAIRE:

Do not be prepared for Lectures:

Attending lectures is perhaps the most unexciting activity in the entire world. In fact the president of one big African country is good example of how successful one can be in life without a University certificate. So do not be prepared for lectures.

It can be underwhelming to come to class and be able to complete notes. You know some of these lecturers talk fast, some mumble (or get off topic). So it is best not to look at the course outline and find out what the lecturer is lecturing on that particular day and take notes prior to the class, so you will be overwhelmed with copying everything on class days.

Social Media is Key:

Do not limit yourself on social media. Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp, Snapchat, Instagram and other internet sites are the real deal. You have to do those things, a lot. Do not, I repeat, do not concentrate on your studies first. Maybe if you have free time, you study. You are in University (Mahadum) so you should mara hadum!

Assignments Suck:

Do not submit assignments. This is very important to dropping out of school and making it big. When a lecturer gives assignments (they give a lot of them remember), do not mind them at all. If you feel like stressing yourself a little, just submit an empty sheet of paper. Miracles still happen. Like the one you have heard about that did same and the lecturer put two question marks (??) on the script and later filled the score as 77! Isn’t that a miracle?

A friend with weed is a friend indeed:

Another good method is by smoking weed. A lot of it! Among other things, it helps you imagine how the world would be without school. You can add some Codeine or Tramadol for increased ability for Wishful thinking. You know this one already so I’ll just move to the next method.

Life is a gamble, don’t stop gambling:

You remember there is always a story about a friend of another friend who won millions of naira on football betting. (It doesn’t matter the exact amount, just put any figure you wish.) You know God works in mysterious ways and who knows, you might just be the next jackpot winner. So keep betting. You can just get a sure game and stake your house- rent or school fees. God alone knows which hospital ward you will end up in. Don’t forget to remember me when you certainly do.

If you want to apply the religious method, here’s how;

You know Monday is bible study and then Tuesday is counseling. Mid-week service holds every Wednesday and Thursday is evangelism. Don’t forget Friday prayers- you know we wrestle not against flesh and blood…. The sanctuary has to be put in order for Sunday service. Pay your tithes as at when dues. Don’t bother reading at all; grace is sufficient…even in the exam hall!

If perhaps you cannot cope with that one. Here’s a better clue:

You can constantly lurk around the female hostels in the evenings. You can even extend your tentacles to the other tertiary institutions around. Who knows, you might find your missing rib(s). If you can’t afford Sunic fast food or Eismann fries, take her to the nearest buka. Don’t bother asking her about her favourite food because you already know its shawarma. Whatever the heck happens after this point is all of your business and none of mine!

Better still, if you cannot afford the method above–probably because of either the cost or the responsibility, or both– here’s a better way.

There a places outside school (there are always such places outside schools) where your physical needs are met at your own expenses. Such places abound around school. All you need do is put your eyes to the ground. There, you don’t need to send recharge cards or buy shawarma(s). What you pay is what you get. Did I say there’s premium service too? – Importation!

If after all these you are yet to decide which is best suitable to you, I’ll make a last ditch attempt offer some help:

You can employ the use of some amount of liquid mixed with a solid particle and help your ministry, if none of those is readily available; saliva is a worthy friend in such need.

Just like king Solomon said; whatever your right hand finds to do, do it diligently.

When you abide by these instructions, you wouldn’t even realize when you would have dropped out of school effectively.

Understand that life is not a straight line. Life is not a set timeline of milestones. It is okay if you don’t finish school, get married, find a job that supports you, have a family, make money, and live comfortably all by this age, or that age. It’s okay if you do, as long as you understand that if you’re not married by 25, or a Vice President by 30 — or even happy, for that matter — the world isn’t going to condemn you. You are allowed to backtrack. You are allowed to figure out what inspires you. You are allowed time, and I think we often forget that. We choose a program right out of school because the proper thing to do is to go straight to University. We choose a job right out of University, even if we didn’t love our program, because we just invested time into it. We go to that job every morning because we feel the need to support ourselves abundantly. We take the next step, and the next step, and the next step, thinking that we are fulfilling some checklist for life, and one day we wake up depressed. We wake up stressed out. We feel pressured and don’t know why. That is how you ruin your life.

You ruin your life by choosing the wrong person. What is it with our need to fast-track relationships? Why are we so enamored with the idea of first becoming somebody’s rather than somebodies? Trust me when I say that a love bred out of convenience, a love that blossoms from the need to sleep beside someone, a love that caters to our need for attention rather than passion, is a love that will not inspire you at 6am when you roll over and embrace it. Strive to discover foundational love, the kind of relationship that motivates you to be a better man or woman, the kind of intimacy that is rare rather than right there. “But I don’t want to be alone,” we often exclaim. Be alone. Eat alone, take yourself on dates, sleep alone. In the midst of this you will learn about yourself. You will grow, you will figure out what inspires you, you will curate your own dreams, your own beliefs, your own stunning clarity, and when you do meet the person who makes your cells dance, you will be sure of it, because you are sure of yourself. Wait for it. Please, I urge you to wait for it, to fight for it, to make an effort for it if you have already found it, because it is the most beautiful thing your heart will experience.

You ruin your life by letting your past govern it. It is common for certain things in life to happen to you. There will be heartbreak, confusion, days where you feel like you aren’t special or purposeful. There are moments that will stay with you, words that will stick. You cannot let these define you – they were simply moments, they were simply words. If you allow for every negative event in your life to outline how you view yourself, you will view the world around you negatively. You will miss out on opportunities because you didn’t get that promotion five years ago, convincing yourself that you were stupid. You will miss out on affection because you assumed your past love left you because you weren’t good enough, and now you don’t believe the man or the woman who urges you to believe you are. This is a cyclic, self-fulfilling prophecy. If you don’t allow yourself to move past what happened, what was said, what was felt, you will look at your future with that lens, and nothing will be able to breach that judgment. You will keep on justifying, reliving, and fueling a perception that shouldn’t have existed in the first place.

You ruin your life when you compare yourself to others. The amount of Instagram followers you have does not decrease or increase your value. The amount of money in your bank account will not influence your compassion, your intelligence, or your happiness. The person who has two times more possessions than you does not have double the bliss, or double the merit. We get caught up in what our friends are liking, who they are following, and at the end of the day this not only ruins our lives, but it also ruins us. It creates within us this need to feel important, and in many cases we often put others down to achieve that.

You ruin your life by desensitizing yourself. We are all afraid to say too much, to feel too deeply, to let people know what they mean to us. Caring is not synonymous with crazy. Expressing to someone how special they are to you will make you vulnerable. There is no denying that. However, that is nothing to be ashamed of. There is something breathtakingly beautiful in the moments of smaller magic that occur when you strip down and are honest with those who are important to you. Let that girl know that she inspires you. Tell your mother you love her in front of your friends. Express, express, express. Open yourself up, do not harden yourself to the world, and be bold in who, and how, you love. There is courage in that.

You ruin your life by tolerating it. At the end of the day you should be excited to be alive. When you settle for anything less than what you innately desire, you destroy the possibility that lives inside of you, and in that way you cheat both yourself and the world of your potential. The next Michelangelo could be sitting behind a Macbook right now writing an invoice for paperclips, because it pays the bills, or because it is comfortable, or because he can tolerate it. Do not let this happen to you. Do not ruin your life this way. Life and work, and life and love, are not irrespective of each other. They are intrinsically linked. We have to strive to do extraordinary work, we have to strive to find extraordinary love. Only then will we tap into an extraordinarily blissful life.

A TC post.

Two Nigerian players, Ahmed Musa and Vincent Enyeama, are in the run to win the 2015 CAF African Footballer of the Year Award after the duo were included in the shortlist of 37 players released on Sunday by the continent’s soccer ruling body.

The two players have been in blistering form for their respective clubs this term with Musa scoring ten goals in all competitions for his Russian club, CSKA Moscow, while Enyeama has kept five clean sheets in six Ligue 1 games for his French side Lille who are 12th on the log.

The list of nominees released by CAF on Sunday is dominated by Algerian players with six footballers from the North African country in the squad even though they failed to make an impact at the Africa Cup of Nations.

We’ve all said things that people interpreted much differently than we thought they would. These seemingly benign comments lead to the awful feeling that only comes when you’ve planted your foot firmly into your mouth.
Verbal slip-ups often occur because we say things without knowledge of the subtle implications they carry. Understanding these implications requires social awareness—the ability to pick up on the emotions and experiences of other people.
TalentSmart has tested the emotional intelligence (EQ) of more than a million people and discovered that social awareness is a skill in which many of us are lacking.
We lack social awareness because we’re so focused on what we’re going to say next—and how what other people are saying affects us—that we completely lose sight of other people.
This is a problem because people are complicated. You can’t hope to understand someone until you focus all of your attention in his or her direction.
The beauty of social awareness is that a few simple adjustments to what you say can vastly improve your relationships with other people.
To that end, there are some phrases that emotionally intelligent people are careful to avoid in casual conversation. The following phrases are nine of the worst offenders. You should avoid them at all costs.

1. 'You look tired.'

Tired people are incredibly unappealing—they have droopy eyes and messy hair, they have trouble concentrating, and they’re as grouchy as they come. Telling someone he looks tired implies all of the above and then some.
Instead say: “Is everything okay?” Most people ask if someone is tired because they’re intending to be helpful (they want to know if the other person is okay). Instead of assuming someone’s disposition, just ask. This way, he can open up and share. More importantly, he will see you as concerned instead of rude.

2. 'Wow, you’ve lost a ton of weight!'

Once again, a well-meaning comment—in this case a compliment—creates the impression that you’re being critical. Telling someone that she has

Just before I moved to the Island some 9years ago, I used to have a friend or should I call her a contemporary named Chika(fake name) she was about the only one I knew staying across the bridge, so whenever I'd an important meeting on d island I'll chill in her house before due time, but most times she denies her been at home for reason best known to her.

She stays somewhere in Oniru, a five bed serviced apartment, she had a G-wagon,range and a brand new Toyota car,she had three shops, one on Awolowo rd Ikoyi, one in ikota and one in Abuja.

She bought shares, she had 3 properties, one at Badore and the other, God knows where, and plenty of land. she fit enter anywhere unbounced, she dey boast Champaign any how!!! Chika was a big girl.

A lagos/Abuja big girl, she had men at her beck and call, Governors, senators, business gurus , name them, I remember begging her to introduce me to one of her aristos, I was desperate to be like her, but she never did. I always carry my pity self to my hood at Maroko. After 6years precisely I saw my friend Chika again under the bridge somewhere in surulere. I packed my "jeep" as tears rolled down my humble eye, what had happened?

Things Likeable People Do

One of my favorite sayings is “Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than speak and remove all doubt.”
Unfortunately, sometimes you need to speak even if you are stretching on a subject. But there are methods to make yourself look and sound more intelligent. We’ve rounded up 10 top tips you can easily put into action, even if you don’t feel smarter than a fifth-grader.

1. Brush off your middle initial

We almost all have middle names, but very few of us seem to be using them to their full potential. Time to change that and start inserting that middle initial into your name. A study published in the European Journal of Social Psychology in 2014 found that the use of a middle initial can make you look more intellectual.
While the study didn’t specifically address the use of a first initial, I have a sneaking suspicion that it too could make you look smarter. After all, I can’t be the only one who thinks F. Scott Fitzgerald sounds more authoritative than Francis Fitzgerald.

2. Take out the contacts and put on the glasses

Another way to look more intelligent before you ever speak a word is to wear glasses. A 2011 study from The College of Optometrists in the United Kingdom found 43 percent of those surveyed believe glasses make people look more intelligent.
Other research indicates not just any glasses will do either. For the full effect, you’ll want thick-rimmed glasses. Think Leonard Hofstadter from “The Big Bang Theory” glasses. On the downside, those big glasses will likely make you look less attractive, but, hey, we can’t have it all.
Incidentally, if you don’t need any visual aid, you can invest in vanity frames with non-corrective lenses.

3. Put down the beer

Everyone seems to lose a few IQ points after downing a few drinks, but the mere presence of alcohol in your hand can make you look like a dimwit. In a 2013 issue of the Journal of Consumer Psychology, researchers called this the “imbibing idiot bias.”
In other words, even if you don’t take a sip, the fact that you’re holding an alcoholic drink may give the impression you’re just moments away from being a blithering idiot, or that you’re just not smart enough to know not to drink in certain situations. Either way, play it safe and skip the alcohol when you want to look your sharpest.

4. Skip gargantuan polysyllabic words

I know, you just learned what idiosyncratic means and want to use it everywhere. But doing so greatly increases your chances of looking like a lame wannabe. Truly smart people use clear, concise language, and by using bigger words than necessary, you risk others thinking you are “gasconading.”
Research published in the journal Applied Cognitive Psychology in 2005 backs us up here. It found the writers of essays who used overly complex vocabulary or too many words were judged to be less intelligent. Our advice: Don’t try so hard and use words that come naturally.

5. Make eye contact

Lauren's Glasses© Flickr user 'chrismetcalfTV' Lauren's Glasses While you’re speaking your clear, concise words, be sure to make eye contact with the other person. It’s a simple way to up your perceived IQ as demonstrated by this 2007 research published in the Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin.

6. Ask questions rather than make statements

You may think sharing your extensive knowledge on all subjects known to man would make you look smart, but you’d be wrong. Rather, it may make you look like a pompous windbag.
A better approach may be to ask questions or, more specifically, ask for advice. Research out of the Harvard Business School this year found those who ask advice are deemed more competent than those who do not.

7. Dress to impress, but keep your assets covered

No matter what the Dove commercials tell us, we’ll always be judged, at least partially, on our looks. If you want to be seen as an intellectual giant, you should consider ditching the jeans and T-shirts and putting on something more polished. For proof, we can go into the vault and pull out a 1997 study that demonstrated teaching assistants were taken more seriously and judged more able if they were professionally dressed.
Speaking of clothes, remember modest attire is your friend. If you dress like “Magic Mike” during his big finale, you risk coming across as a mimbo. Researchers from the University of Maryland and Yale University conducted a series of experiments that found when people were sexualized, they were perceived as less intelligent. So protest as you will, ladies, but keep the cleavage in check if you want to look like the mental superstar you are.

8. Stand tall and straight

I didn’t realize it until researching this article, but apparently taller people are more intelligent than shorter people. As someone who is 5 feet 4, I find this news a bit troublesome. Nevertheless, let’s put it to our advantage!
Even if you’re not tall, you can make the most of what you’ve got. Good posture can signal that you’re powerful and in control, so if you’re trying to impress someone with your brain, make sure you’re standing or sitting straight. On the other hand, if you’re hoping your body will be what makes an impression, then you have my permission to lean on the bar while trying to pick up the hot chick.

9. Take care of your teeth

Another way to make yourself look smarter is to keep your pearly whites healthy. A survey of 1,047 people found 38 percent of them said they perceive people with straight teeth as smarter than those with crooked teeth.
Beyond making you look smarter, good teeth can help you appear younger and more attractive to boot. Keep that in mind the next time you’re tempted to skip your evening brushing and flossing.
